What is Comeks Shorts?

Comeks Shorts is a mobile application for sending fun visual SMS's to other Shorts users. You can create your own avatar here and use it to send text messages. For every message you send, you can modify the avatar's mood and the background. Your message text will be displayed in a speech bubble.

Comeks Shorts makes SMS's more expressive and fun, for the price of a normal SMS. Only a few characters are reserved from the SMS for transferring the graphical information. If the receiver does not have the Comeks Shorts application, the Shorts message is displayed as a normal SMS.

Does it cost to send the SMS with Comeks Shorts?

Using Comeks Shorts to send your SMS does not cost anything extra. The price of the SMS is the same as what your service provider charges for a normal SMS.

How much does it cost to install Comeks Shorts?

Installing and using Comeks Shorts is absolutely free! It is freely downloadable here.

How do I install Comeks Shorts?

Installing Comeks Shorts is easy. The easiest way is to download the file directly to your mobile phone by using your mobile phone's browser. You can find detailed instructions here.

I cannot install Comeks Shorts, what is wrong?

Make sure that your phone is supported and you access to http://sh.comeks.com.

I have installed the file, where can I access it?

The file is automatically installed in the Applications folder of your mobile phone and thus can be accessed by going into your mobile's applications folder.

What is this cartoon like character in the middle of the screen and is there a way to change the its appearance?

This character is called Shortie, an avatar which expresses yourself. And absolutely you can modify it! Go online and design the shortie that you like and then send it to your phone. Change its hairstyle, face and clothes. You can also add accessories and other funny things to your Shortie.

My shortie always looks the same, do I need to create my shortie again with a different expression and background and send it to my phone?

Not at all! You can change the expression and the background of your shortie inside the mobile application. Once you have the shortie with the right expression and the appropriate background, you can use that to send your SMS.

Can I change the accessories?

No, at this moment you cannot change the accessories in your mobile phone. You will need to modify your avatar on the web and send it to your phone. But hey, it's all free!

Can I have several Shorties to represent me?

The application was made with the intention that each avatar will represent one person. Thus, you can only have one Shortie installed in one phone. When you modify your avatar online, the new Shortie replaces the old one.

How can I type text in the speech bubble?

Select the "A" symbol to the left side of the Shortie by navigating there with the phone's joystick. There you can type text like when creating a normal SMS.

How long message can I send using Comeks Shorts?

The length of the message that you can send is almost as long as a normal SMS. However, Comeks Shorts does require a few characters for the information regarding the avatar and the background. If your message exceeds the character limit of one SMS, then the message is split into parts.

What will happen if I send message with Comeks Shorts, but the user does not have the application?

The user will get it as normal SMS, along with the invitation to download Comeks Shorts. There will be some characters that will not make sense to the user because they are there for Comeks Shorts to interpret. Once the user gets Comeks Shorts, he/she will only see the intended message of the SMS.

What is mPostcard?

mPostcard allows you to create a private wap page of your Shorts message and send links to your friends via SMS. In your wap page your friends can comment and reply to your message without the need of Comeks Shorts Application. Sending mPostcards is free (data transfer charges depends on your mobile service).

How can I get more background images and the shortie expressions?

We will be adding more expressions, accessories and background images in the future versions of Comeks Shorts. If you are registered user, you'll get the latest versions as the are published.
