1. Personal data

In processing of personal data Comeks Oy (“Comeks”) complies with the Finnish Personal Data Act (523/1999).

Certain services offered by Comeks are only available for registered users. Therefore Comeks, for the purposes of maintaining the customer relationship as well as in order to provide the services, requests users to provide certain personal data, such as the name and telephone number.

The personal data supplied by the user will be stored in the customer register maintained by Comeks. Comeks processes any personal data supplied by the user in order for it to fulfil its obligations relating to maintaining customer relations. Comeks uses the personal data supplied by the user for direct marketing purposes only if the user has given his/her consent to such use. Please note the use of Comeks Shorts Service requires that the user gives his/her consent to such marketing. The user may at any time prohibit the use or transfer of his/her personal data for marketing purposes by notifying the person responsible for the personal data register: [name and address]. Please note that your prohibition may prevent Comeks from offering the services to you and therefore you prohibition will be seen as termination of such services by you.

Comeks also collects non-personally-identifiable information from users of Comeks services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third parties. Unless otherwise provided by applicable legislation, Comeks does not disclose personal data to third parties without the explicit consent of the user.

In accordance with the Personal Data Act, the user may exercise the data subject’s right of access to their personal data as processed by Comeks by sending a written access request signed by the user addressed to the person responsible for the personal data register or by visiting Unioninkatu 45 A 124 in person, where also the description of the data file is available for review. The use of the data subjects’ right of access is free of charge once each year. Upon request by the user, Comeks corrects, deletes or supplements any erroneous personal data without undue delay. The user should contact the person responsible for the personal data register in order to correct any information.

Comeks retains your personal data as long as it is necessary for the provision of the services requested by you and for purposes relating to the business relationship between Comeks and you.

2. Cookies

Comeks may collect information on all users’ usage of the services and websites and may process and analyse such data. In order to review the usage of the content of the services and websites as well as to improve their usability, Comeks may use cookies or similar technologies. A “cookie” is a small text file that the Internet server will save on the users’ computer. This enables Comeks to collect information on how and when the services and website are used, and to improve their user friendliness. It is not possible to identify the individual users from the information collected through use of cookies. Although the user’s browser is likely to automatically accept cookies, it is normally possible for the user to configure the browser settings so as not to accept cookies and to delete them from the computer. However, some of the services offered by Comeks may not be available if the user’s browser does not accept cookies.

3. Passwords and User Data

User data, such as user name and avatar, are displayed to all users. Please note that upon registration you are granted with a password that only functions with your user name. Please note that you are liable for the safekeeping of your password to ensure that no unauthorised parties are able to utilise your user name and password. You are liable for all actions performed by using of your user name and password.

4. Data security

Comeks has arranged the data security of its services in a generally accepted manner, with due care and following good data processing principles, and aims to use such technical solutions as are appropriate in order to prevent unauthorised access to its data systems. Comeks cannot however guarantee complete data security as the internet and mobile environments and related services are not completely secure. The user is responsible for the appropriate maintenance of the data security of his/her devices and systems.

Comeks may at any time make changes to this Privacy Policy without separate notice to you.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Finland.
